When treating Chronic Lyme disease, Unipathic Medicine goes far beyond diagnosing and providing IV antibiotics. We include a comprehensive treatment plan to help patients achieve optimal health.

Unipathic Medicine Recognizing and Treating Chronic Lyme Disease Complex

While Unipathic Medicine stands in solidarity with ILADS, the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society, and supports the message for Lyme disease treatment to be guided by a clinical response, we believe it to be insufficient. Richard Horowitz, MD, was recently interviewed by Bottom Line Publications in the above video and while talking about Lyme disease he said, “75 to 80 percent of the time if found early, it can be cured.” But that is in the early stages. The problem that Lyme disease presents is that many times it does not come alone, and it can manifest itself as Chronic Lyme disease complex. Unipathic Medicine not only recognizes this but treats the full complex using the best of all medical disciplines in diagnostics and in treatment delivered. We define Chronic Lyme disease Complex or CLDC as: involving one or more factors: Lyme disease; its co-infections; the reactivation of dormant infections, such as viruses, fungal and parasitic infections; and or an immune compromised state that can be further complicated by heavy metal toxicity, chemical toxicities, essential nutritional deficiencies and structural impairments as part of the etiology of the chronic disease. Many times patients with CLDC are dismissed as hypochondriacs, but this never happens with Unipathic Medicine as long as physicians practice radical loving care principles and share our approach to this difficult disease.

The video does a good job of defining and describing Lyme disease but from the Unipathic point of view it is a multifaceted disease that involves more than antibiotics and prescription drugs. A highly detailed approach is needed to treat all infections and related complications.

Unipathic Medicine has been used for Lyme disease complex sufferers for 15 plus years and we teach physicians to increase immune function and decrease the infection level in patients. The main issues when confronted with in Lyme disease is synergistic replication (co-infections rising and falling) and biofilm. In CLDC, we see a medical situation complicated by co-infections and secondary infections that need a different kind of treatment than most doctors are prepared for. Co-infections come in 3 different forms: Bacterial, examples being Babesia, Bartonella; Viral, the example being Epstein-barr; and Fungal, examples being Candida/Microplasma. Antigen mimicking infections are also a cause for concern because they indicate that the immune system is attacking itself. Unipathic Medicine is specialized to help patients with Lyme disease and other autoimmune diseases. We help physicians analyze the patient’s specific case of Lyme disease through extensive detailed testing, and go from there. If it is found the patient has biofilm protecting the Lyme disease spirochete or a heavy metal load, we have methods to target those. Every case is different and every patient is different. That is our specialty – learning about the patient, and tailoring treatment for them based on our unique concept – the medical blueprint.
